"First of Many" Becomes "She Returns"
When I first created this website, the title was "First of Many." I foreshadowed correctly. I've returned. "She Returns" retains much of the original elements of the website, including lesson plans, discussion posts, and commentary from my first semester as a UTA (Fall 2016). However, this updated site features new lesson plans, new discussion posts, and a Digital Learning Artifact from my return semester (Spring 2018). As you read in my short "About" page, I am nearing the end of my time as an undergraduate and have completed my degree in English Language & Literature. As of January 2018, I was selected to participate in UMD's 2018-19 MCERT program -- a year-long program in which I receive a Master's Degree in Education and my teaching certificate for Maryland. Education is in my blood; it runs deep and red. I would love nothing more than to live a life in which I continue to return to the things that teach me most -- things like ENGL388V and serving as a UTA. Unfortunately, this will be the last semester I'm able to be an ENGL101 TA. But in the future? I will return to more things, newer things. Coming back to my roots, practicing reflection, continuing to grow, and moving towards greater heights will serve as the fundamental pillars of my life's work. An educator's work is never finished, whether or not I'm in the classroom. There are numerous things I'll be returning to after this semester ends -- writing, teaching writing, certain articles, certain practices, a new friend and colleague, and a renewed sense of hope for the future of education.
